Car Boot Sale Hacks for a Deep Spring Clean
A car boot sale is a great way to kick off spring cleaning.
What is car booting? Car booting is when a group of people gather to sell items that they’re trying to get rid of. It’s similar to a garage sale except in a car boot sale, many sellers can gather in one place. People sell their items out of the back of their cars or set up folding tables to display their goods.
People who are interested in buying can walk around and find second-hand items to purchase at great prices. I usually like to shop at car boot sales, but this time I’m going to be a seller.
It’s the perfect way to clean out the excess clutter from my house and make a little extra money.
I gathered up a bag of clothing that I hadn’t been wearing. Everything is still in good condition. Hopefully someone will buy them and get some use out of them so they’re not just taking up space in my closet.
I’m also going to sell these exercise weights. A car boot sale is the perfect place to sell them because the buyer can just put them in their car and get them home easily.
What’s great about these weights is that they have pictures of different exercises you can use them for. I think these will be of great use to someone.
I’m going to try to sell some of my books. These are books I’ve read and cherished, but I know I won’t read them again.
I may as well free up some space in the house and pass them along to someone who hasn’t read them yet. I’ve also decided to get rid of some of the DVDs I no longer watch.
I’ve got some old jewelry I wouldn’t mind parting with. I also found a box of Lego. It’s got some pieces missing, but Lego bricks always attract some interest.
My husband is going to sell some of his extra tools. He has and wants to keep duplicates of each of his tools, but he’s going to sell anything he has 3 or more of. We’ll also try to get rid of some old furniture we no longer need.
Car boot sales are perfect for getting rid of things you don’t mind selling for a very low price. There’s only so much money people are willing to spend at a car boot sale. Some of the items I want to sell could go for a lot more money online or through other avenues.
It’s good to think about your market to optimize sales, and certain items just aren’t quite right for a car boot sale.
I’ll show you some of the items I plan on putting for sale online because they’re more valuable. One is this gorgeous wooden game compendium. It’s got backgammon, chess, and checkers.
I’m also going to try to sell this little “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” monkey figurine.
I have a gorgeous silk dress that I will try to sell online. I actually bought it at a car boot sale last year. It’s brand new with the tags still on.
I only paid $1 for it, and the tag price is $99. Sometimes you can buy an item at a sale boot and resell it for a profit. I’m hoping that will be the case with this dress.
