The Best Copycat Fast Food Recipes You Need to Try!

I'm going to be sharing some super easy and delicious copycat fast-food recipes with you guys today. Prices are going up everywhere and eating out was already expensive. It's a lot cheaper to eat at home.

You probably already have a lot of the ingredients I'm using so it's going to be simple to have your favorite copycat restaurant-style recipes right at home.

We do eat out as a family, but because it’s cheaper we try to eat at home more often. However, it is fun to have our favorite restaurant foods at home.

Copycat of Arby's beef and cheddar recipe

1. Arby’s beef and cheddar

This is definitely a family favorite in my house. I have been making these for years. They are so good. You do need a good copycat of Arby’s sauce recipe which you can find below:

  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons Heinz 57 Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon white pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of nutmeg

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and chill it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

A pan with fries and a bag of sesame buns

I couldn't find any curly fries, so I just went with some seasoned crispy fries. I cooked them according to the package directions.

An original Arby's beef and cheddar is on an onion bun, but I use sesame buns.

Roast beef in frying pan with beef broth

Use two to four packs of roast beef depending on how many portions you need.

I highly recommend heating up your roast beef in warm beef broth. Simply add a beef bouillon cube to some water, warm it up, and add the roast beef in one piece at a time. Then stir the meat.

The roast beef is already fully cooked. You just want to heat it before you add it to your sandwich. This technique has been a game changer for me because I used to heat it in a dry skillet and it would get very dry.

Layering cheese sauce on top of roast beef on a burger bun

I like to use the Velveeta cheese sauce for the cheddar. Heat up a Velveeta cheese sauce packet in some hot water. Take your homemade Arby’s sauce out of the refrigerator and spread some on your bun.

Layer up your sandwich with the meat and cheese.

I added some more Arby’s sauce on top of the meat and cheese. Then I put my French fries next to it. It was delicious.

Homemade Starbucks lemon loaf recipe

2. Starbucks lemon loaf

Next up I’m going to show you how I made a Starbucks lemon loaf. This is one of my favorite things to get at Starbucks. I got this recipe from a cookbook.

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Preheat your oven to 350 Fahrenheit.

Cream your butter and sugar together. Then add in some fresh lemon zest.

This recipe called for lemon extract, which I didn't have so I used lemon juice. Lemon juice is different from lemon extract because the extract is stronger and it's more concentrated. The lemon flavor wasn't as strong in my pound cake since I didn't have the extract.

Once you’ve added and mixed your ingredients, pour the batter into a pan, put it in the oven, and cook it until a toothpick or a knife comes out clean.

Let it sit and cool for about ten minutes in the pan. Then flip it out and let it finish cooling on a cookie sheet, cutting board, or whatever you have.

Icing dripping from a spoon into a bowl

While the cake cools, start putting together the icing.

  • 3/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Pouring icing over cooled lemon loaves

For the icing, you need some lemon juice, powdered sugar, and lemon zest. Mix that together well, and then pour it on top of your cooled cake.

This came out really well for me. I loved the icing.

Homemade Taco Bell fiesta potatoes recipe

3. Taco Bell Fiesta potatoes

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
Coated cubed potatoes in a bowl

Preheat your oven to 400 Fahrenheit.

Cut up a couple of potatoes and put them in a bowl. Toss them in some olive oil. Next, add the flour and cornstarch to help form a delicious coating.

I decided to add a little more seasoning than the recipe called for such as a bit of cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and some chili powder. You can just stick to the ingredients in the recipe if you prefer.

Mix everything together and make sure the potatoes are well coated. Then pop them in the oven and get them cooking.

Copycat Taco Bell chicken quesadillas

4. Taco Bell chicken quesadillas

Let’s make some chicken quesadillas to go with those fiesta potatoes.

We've been making these for a long time in my house. They are so good.

All you need is your cheese of choice, some flour tortillas, and chicken. I used a two-pack of chicken breast that I had in my freezer. I found it on sale for $0.99. It was the perfect chicken to use for these.

Taco Bell Spicy Ranchero dressing

I also bought one of the Taco Bell sauces. I got the Spicy Ranchero. It is exactly the same as the sauce they have at the restaurant.

Two homemade Taco Bell chicken quesadillas on a griddle

Once you get your chicken all cooked up, take it off the griddle. Then butter that pan back up and put on your soft-shell tortillas. Load them up with cheese, sauce, and chicken. Let it get nice and heated through and fold them up.

Serve the quesadillas and potatoes together. The potatoes should be nice and crispy. You can serve everything with cheese sauce and sour cream on top, just like Taco Bell does.

The lemon poundcake sounds yummy however two loaves are shown and doesn't say the batter is for two pans full=was it doubled? Also doesn't say how long to bake it. :/

Where did you get the roast beef? I have not been able to find anything prepackaged. Is it deli sliced meat?

    • Becky Becky on Apr 05, 2024

to me it looks like the prepackaged deli meat from the grocery store section with the bologna and hot dogs - you could try sliced meat from the service deli too
