Do you struggle with what to do with all the leftover turkey from Thanksgiving? I have a simple, delicious, easy leftover turkey recipe for you that I’m sure your whole family will love. It’s the best recipe for leftover turkey so they won’t say “Turkey again?” This Thanksgiving leftover recipe is called Turkey Puffs, or Turkey Turnovers.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of cooked turkey
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup Swiss cheese
- 1 package of crescent rolls
- Salt and pepper
1. Cut up turkey
Dice the leftover turkey into small pieces and put it all into a large bowl.
2. Spray tin
Lightly spray a muffin tin with oil so the turnovers don’t stick.
3. Insert dough into the tin
Take one triangle of dough (just take apart at the scored edges) and press it into a baking tin cup. Press the dough so it comes all the way up the sides of the cup. Leave the long pieces of dough hanging out of the cup (you will fold them over later). Fill each cup with a triangle of dough.
4. Add mayo
Add the mayonnaise to the bowl of turkey.
5. Add cheese
Add the cheese to the bowl of turkey.
6. Season and mix
Add salt and pepper. Mix it all together in the bowl.
7. Fill muffin tins
Fill each muffin tin with the turkey mixture.
8. Fold the dough and bake
Fold the hanging sides of the dough over the mixture to make a little covered cup. Bake these in the oven according to the directions on the crescent rolls package.
Here are the baked turkey turnovers. They have that perfect lightly browned color on top.
You can also add dried cranberries or walnuts to the turkey mix for extra crunch.
