The 9 Best Birthday Freebies From Major Retailers

1. Ulta

You do have to be signed up with Ulta for ultimate rewards. Just download the app and sign up online. It’s very simple. They change their birthday gift every year. It could be a makeup or skincare product, but it will be very generous in size.

I received mascara that I loved. I really wanted the Clinique eyeliner but it was only redeemable online so I opted instead for the in-store freebie which was the Lancome Youth Activating Serum.  

2. Sephora

Again, you do have to be registered as a Sephora Insider to redeem your birthday gifts. You get high-end makeup in generous sizes, just like Ulta’s gifts.

I’ve been gifted the NARS bronzer in the Laguna shade. I use it almost every day and it’s lasted a long time. I have also received the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder and the Champagne Shadow Stick. I’ve also had the choice of TULA Skincare for a redeemable gift.

3. Victoria's Secret

You also need to be enrolled in Victoria's Secret’s Pink credit card. If you do enroll, pay off the credit card because you don’t want to pay the high interest. The gift depends on the tier you are enrolled in.

I am enrolled in either tier 1 or 2, but they gave me a $10 birthday reward gift card to redeem. The highest tier is a $20 reward. This reward does have exclusions on types of merchandise, though.

4. Free wings

I love food and who doesn’t love food on their birthday? I got an email from Buffalo Wild Wings for a free 6-piece order of wings. I also learned that at Wing Stop you can get a free order of fries. As always, you do have to be signed up with the rewards program at both restaurants to get the freebies.

5. Free drinks

You get a free drink from Starbucks on your birthday. Sign up with them to get this freebie. If you have a Dutch Bros. near you, you can download their app and redeem a free drink on your birthday.

6. Free cake

I enrolled in the Nothing Bundt Cakes store. On the week of your birthday, they will email you a coupon to redeem a free mini bundt cake.   

7. Panera

Follow Panera’s app so you can get a free pastry on your birthday. 

8. Denny’s

This freebie has been around for a really long time, even since I was a little kid! Go in on your birthday to build your own Grand Slam stack. All you have to do is show your identification, you don’t need to enroll in any program.

9. Free pet treats

Once you enroll with Petco and give them your fur baby’s birthday, they will send you an email to redeem for a pound of free dog treats at the little dog treat bar. A pound is a ton of treats! PetSmart sent me a $3 credit towards a treat. I got a small dental bone for free there.
