5 Cute & Simple DIY Dollar Tree Farmhouse Decor Crafts

Today we’re doing some DIY Dollar Tree farmhouse décor. I love creating my own home décor, especially around springtime. Here are some of my most recent DIYs.

Springtime welcome sign

1. A springtime welcome sign

For this project, I’m using a 1x6 scrap piece of wood that I found in my garage. I painted it with a thin layer of white chalk paint so the grain of the wood still showed through a bit. Then I took three wooden bunny cutouts and painted them white as well.

Covering the bunnies with patterned paper

I decided to cover the bunnies with some coordinated spring color papers with different prints. I traced the bunnies on the backside of my paper and cut them out.

I wanted my bunnies to be raised on the board so I stacked three adhesive foam squares on top of each other on the backs of each. I also glued some little white pompoms to their bottoms for their tails.

Using a Dollar Tree sign for a DIY

I wanted to write welcome at the top of the sign. I actually had a cheap sign from Dollar Tree that had a cute welcome sticker on it so I took that off to use on my sign.

After I stuck that to the wood I measured the spaces out for my bunnies to make sure they were evenly distributed. When it was finished I displayed it on a tiny wooden easel but you could also put a saw tooth hanger on the back and hang it on the wall.

Hanging wreath decorations for spring

2. Hanging wreath decorations

For this project, I’m using 3 mini wreath forms, a couple of rolls of Easter ribbon, and a whole bunch of pretty pink silk flowers. I separated the flowers into three so I’d have the same amount of flowers on each wreath since these are going to be displayed next to each other on my kitchen cabinets.

Sticking flowers to the wreath

I used my hot glue gun to stick the flowers to the wire of the wreaths. I added some greenery in between the flowers, which I thought looked really nice. Then I painted my tiny Styrofoam bunnies white to cover the Styrofoam and I set those aside to dry.

Wrapping ribbons around the wreath

I took some of the spring ribbons and wrapped them around the top of the wreath to hang them. Then I took some more of it and added some white ribbon to it and used the fold-over method to create a nice perky bow. I attached the bows to the top of the wreaths. I glued the bunnies to the bottoms and they were all done.

Bunny watering stakes

3. Bunny watering stakes

For this project, I used two plastic watering stakes and a felt bunny garland. I also used my black and white paint pens. I cut a couple of bunny ears off of the felt bunnies leaving about an inch of the head. Then I attached the ears to the backs of the bulbs to make the bulbs look like bunny heads.

Drawing bunny faces

I used my black paint pen to make the bunny faces and when that paint dried I used the white paint pen to add some more details. Next, I took some ribbon and made a bow around the stake of the bunny and used glue to keep it in place.

Hanging peeps sign for spring

4. Hanging peeps sign

For the next DIY, I used a frame, some silk flowers, and a yellow bunny cut-out. I painted the bunny light pink. I also decide to use three Jenga pieces as lifters so I painted those as well.

Tracing the back of the frame

I traced the back of the frame onto a piece of wood print wallpaper to use as the background. I used a black paint pen to make little dots for the eyes and the nose. I wanted to try to make it look like one of those Peep marshmallows. Then I used my white paint pen to write ‘hanging with my peeps.’

Supergluing embellishments to the top

I superglued the Jenga pieces to the back of the bunny and attached them to the top of the frame. I embellished the top with some pretty pink and white gingham ribbon, some silk flowers, and some greenery.

DIY framed 3D bird’s nest

5. Framed 3D bird’s nest

I’ve had these Styrofoam frames from Dollar Tree for a few months now and was waiting anxiously for spring to do this project.

I painted it with a nice thick coat of white chalk paint to cover up the Styrofoam texture. I wanted it to look like an old painted wood frame so while the white paint was still wet I added a few brush strokes of brown paint.

Making a birds nest craft

I painted 3 small Styrofoam eggs. To create the nest for the eggs I took the bottom of an empty ribbon spool. I glued some floral moss on that and pushed it down in the middle to create a nest shape.

I glued some reindeer moss to the bottom corner of the frame. I used a floral pick to add my nest. Then to help keep the moss from falling off I covered it all with a healthy coat of hairspray. I added some synthetic lavender stems to decorate the frame. I glued on the eggs and it was done.
