Five Linen Closet Storage Ideas

Do you have a linen closet that isn’t being used to store linens? I have some linen closet storage ideas to share with you!Linen closets are often used for storing bedding, towels, and other household items. If you have a linen closet, chances are good that it has a lot of unused space. You can use those extra spaces to add more storage options. I’d love to share a few of my linen closet storage ideas with you!

I actually use our linen closet to hold all my cookbooks as well as extra baking pans and some home decor items.

In case you are wondering, I store our extra sheets and other linens in a chest of drawers in the quest room.

5 Ways to Make the Most of Your Linen Closet

To gain extra storage, try adding additional shelves to your linen closet. I added a wire shelf to the top shelf of the linen closet.

In the picture above, it looks like the shelf is a little unstable. I cleared everything off the top shelf.

I added shelf liner to the shelf to add more stability before putting the wire shelf back in place.

I use baskets to hold home decor items that I am not currently using. I added a large lidded basket on the floor under the bottom shelf. This helps to make the space more useable. I am not sure if Gracie is trying to hide or if she thinks she is supervising!

You can use the linen closet to hold items related to your hobbies. In my case, cooking is one of my hobbies so I store all my cookbooks on shelves in the linen closet. This linen closet is located in the hallway just off of our dining area so the cookbooks are still easily accessible.

I also use small decorative lidded boxes to hold small items such as booklet sized cookbooks or reference manuals for small kitchen appliances.

I also use this linen closet as a place to hold my extra baking pans and some serving dishes. The next photo shows a Bundt pan and an aluminum service dish on the top shelf. There is a silver water picture on the floor. This is an older picture. I have since reorganized the closet so that these items are still stored in here.

I put the baking pan and the small serving dish in the brown canvas bag. The silver water pitcher is in the pink bag and is sitting next to the brown bag on the top shelf.

The picnic basket used to belong to my paternal grandmother. It no longer has a lid but it still works to hold a variety of items.

Love the idea of putting linens in guest room dresser. Have more drawers than anyone needs while visiting and it frees up my closet space.

Great ideas but where do you put your linens; towels, sheets, blankets quilts etc?
