Jill gives us a tour of her mother’s pantry stockpile to give us ideas and inspiration. They show us all her must-haves and how she organizes.

Stockpiling your pantry doesn’t have to be overwhelming or even expensive if you do it right!

At the very top of her pantry, Jill’s mom keeps supplies for extreme emergencies.

She’s got big containers of things like butter powder, powdered milk, and cheddar cheese powder. These are some of her long-term storage foods.

She organizes her pantry by category. Canned proteins and meats go on the top right of the closet. Next to that she keeps starches like potatoes and pastas. Canned and jarred fruits and jams are at eye level.

She also stores a lot of Tang because it is fortified with vitamins, which are important in case of emergencies like food shortages.

It’s also a good drink to give kids to make sure they’re getting all their vitamins. Tang also stores well because it lasts a long time.

The open boxes these stock items come in are convenient to use for storing things in the pantry. They act almost as smaller shelves within the shelves which makes it easier for her to access what she needs.

Storing solutions should be well thought out and strategically planned for easy access.

Down at the bottom of the pantry she stores all her big containers of products like sugars and flours. She keeps the oldest items at the top so that she uses those first.

This is another great storing strategy. Old containers are great for storing things like rice and powders, to protect them from bugs and moisture.

Whether you’re stockpiling for emergencies or just collecting sale items, stock your pantry strategically.

Consider your own personal needs when choosing your supplies!
