How I Made 100k in a Year With 5 Income Streams

1. YouTube

YouTube was my first social media platform. YouTube was the first way that I was able to make money when I started this YouTube channel back in 2018. I got my first YouTube check in January 2019.

I have been making money with my side hustle business since 2019, which is insane. YouTube was very slow for me in 2022. It was one of my slowest years. I was having a lot of crises and changes and things. So from YouTube, I made $2,300 in 2022, which is very low.

My goal for 2023 is to make at least $5,000 from YouTube, if not more. Last year was a growing year, a changing year. I took some time off from YouTube. I quit for a few months. Then I came back, and I found my mojo.

The way we make money from YouTube is through Google Adsense. I get paid when people watch the ads on the videos.

2. Brand deals

The way that I made money in 2022 was through brand deals. A brand deal is when you work with a brand, and they pay you to either create content on your platform or UGC content, where you create content and use it on their platforms. I had big brand deals, as much as $10,000 a month.

I've had low-brand deals, as low as $200 a month. That is $200 for a deal. That's the lowest that I received in 2022. From all of my brand deals, I made about $30,000 in 2022 just from brand deals.

I'll also say that I don't reach out to any brands. All of the brands have reached out to me. They've either found me on TikTok, they found my YouTube, and they wanted to work with me in some capacity. These are only the brands that I said yes to.

3. Affiliate marketing

The third way I made money in 2022 was from affiliate income. Affiliate income is when you share another product or service and earn 5%, 10%, or 20% commission for sharing that product.

From affiliate income, I was able to make around $2,000 from straight-up affiliates. You share about our products, and we're going to give you 10%, or we're going to give you 5%, we're going to give you 20%, or whatever sales you generate.

Some people make all their money from affiliate income and brand deals. Like all they do is brand deals and affiliate income. They're influencers. It's amazing. I don't use affiliates as much as I should.

I want to use them a little bit more only when I'm directly talking about a product or service for which an affiliate exists. It is a great way to make money if you're already doing the "outfit of the day" and "get ready with me" and all those products; you can link those products and get your coin.

I don't do that as much. I'm more educational. So there are not as many affiliate opportunities for me, but when they are, I'm capitalizing on them. So I made about $2,000 from affiliate income.

4. Coaching programs

This is where I made the most significant chunk of money from my coaching programs. I sell one-on-one coaching; I sell group coaching and my money-saving academy. So if you need help couponing, budgeting, and meal planning, the money-saving academy is for you.

I also made money selling my side hustle society. This is my twelve-month group coaching program where I help you start and create a side hustle from scratch and make consistent money every single month.

I sold master classes, I did boot camps, I did workshops, and I did webinars. I made money whenever I sold my education, teaching, and coaching.

In 2022 I made $58,000 from my coaching. That is the most I've made from coaching since I've been a business owner—almost $60,000 in coaching alone. I'm so, so excited. I cannot even wait to see how many lives I impact. I cannot wait to see what I can do in 2023 if I was able to do all of that in 2022.

I love being a coach and it just warmed my heart that I could make that much money.

Also, when I think about how I made that much money, I helped hundreds of women save money and make money, which brought me even more joy. So the most significant way and the most money I made in 2022 was from my coaching, which was at $58,000.

5. Gig work

The final way that I was able to make money in 2022 was from gig work. I had two primary gigs. I do Instacart, so I drive, go to the store, shop for people, and deliver groceries to their houses.

I also sell sorority apparel for one of my sorority sisters. She has a huge business where she sells Greek apparel. So I have those two opportunities as my gig work, and I was able to make a little over $12,000 from my gig work.

Between Instacart and vending in 2022, I made around $12,000 in 2022.

How to make 100k a year

So all in, that's about $103,000 that I was able to make in 2022. I didn't imagine that I would have all of these different arms of my business. I am grateful for them.
