Wanting to live a nomadic lifestyle and save money in the process, Allison and James decided that their best bet was to live in an Airstream tiny house and travel around the country in it. So they purchased a 1968 Airstream Overlander and began converting it right away.

At 26 ft long and 6 ½ ft wide, they had exactly 160 sq ft of living space to work with. And with no prior building experience, this large task was no easy feat. But you wouldn’t have any idea how much it required these days as it looks quite amazing and professionally done.

The first thing you’ll notice about this Airstream converted to a tiny house is its light and airy feel.

Most of their tiny house Airstream is painted bright white, so the dark walnut countertops and black appliances in the kitchen area as well as the wood floors throughout really make a big impact here.

What may come as a surprise is just how much storage space this couple was able to include. They have a 4 ft closet space—which has plenty of room for their clothes, instruments, and yoga mats—two nightstands, and a small dresser in their sleeping quarters.

Plus, they can store their skis, snowboards, and hiking gear right under their double-size bed.

Also included in this couple’s Airstream tiny house is a wet bath with a shower and a Nature’s Head composting toilet.

At the front of the trailer is a freshwater tank, and at the back of the trailer is a pressurized water hookup.

Designed to live entirely off the grid but currently hooked up to the grid, their Airstream tiny house also has a 30 amp hookup for electricity as well as a 12-volt system that applies power to the water pump and lighting sconces. It really is quite impressive.
