4 Quick and Easy Christmas Dessert Ideas
I’m sharing yummy, easy Christmas desserts today. I’m going to tell you about my all-time favorites that I make yearly. I also tried a new Christmas dessert recipe that was absolutely delicious.
Christmas dessert recipe 1: Mini spice cupcakes
These cupcakes have an icing on top that gives it just a bit of sweetness, but it’s not too much on top.
Ingredients:
Spice cake mix
Mini cupcake/muffin liners
Mini cupcake/muffin baking tray
For the icing:
Heavy cream
Powdered sugar
Directions:
I followed the spice cake mix recipe.
Then I filled my liners up ¾ of the way with the batter mix.
I baked them in the oven per the box directions.
Then I mix up my icing with a whisk, continually adding powdered sugar, until I get it to the consistency I like.
Then I dunked in each cupcake, top down, so cover it with icing.
The icing will harden for the perfect amount of sweetness.
Christmas dessert recipe 2: Oreo balls
This is a family and crowd favorite so I make these every year.
Ingredients:
1 package of Oreos, or, Oreo-like cookies
1 block of cream cheese
White chocolate for baking
Directions:
Use a food processor or food chopper to crush up all the cookies.
Put the crushed cookies into a mixing bowl.
Soften the block of cream cheese.
When it’s soft, add it into the mixing bowl with the cookies.
Mix to this consistency.
Put the mixer on a “medium” speed to combine the cookies and cream cheese. (You do not have to beat the mixture to death.)
Use a cookie scoop to scoop out the dough. Put the dough balls on a baking sheet covered in foil or parchment paper.
Pop the uncovered tray in the freezer for at least 30 minutes to harden.
When they come out of the freezer, smooth the balls out a bit by taking them one at a time in your hands and rolling them.
Melt the white chocolate (in the microwave or on the stove).
Dip them in melted white chocolate.
Drizzle any leftover chocolate over the balls to decorate them a little bit.
Christmas dessert recipe 3: Gingerbread cheesecakes
This is a new recipe that I tried. I simply saw a photo on Pinterest and could not find the recipe so I made one up.
I used a gingerbread cookie dough and went with it with my own way of making the cheesecakes. They were not too sweet – it is the perfect combination and little bite of holiday cheer and cheesecake.
Ingredients:
Pillsbury gingerbread cookie dough
Cheesecake ingredients:
(Determine how much you need based on how many cheesecakes you are making. The amount below covers about 12 mini cheesecakes.)
1 bar of cream cheese
½ cup of sour cream
¼ cup table sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Grease a mini cupcake baking tray.
Put the cookie dough in each cupcake opening, filling each one about ¾ of the way.
Make the cheesecake filling by beating the cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until thoroughly combined.
I topped each of the cupcakes with a little bit of the cheesecake filling.
Bake them at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 12 minutes.
Christmas dessert recipe 4: Ritz cracker candy
I remember making these as a kid. So easy and these are a definite family-favorite, too.
Ingredients:
Box of Ritz crackers
Jar of smooth peanut butter
Any chocolate or white chocolate for baking
Directions:
Make as many peanut butter cracker sandwiches as you’d like. I used two sleeves of crackers here.
Melt the chocolate (either microwave or on the stove).
Begin to dip every cracker in the chocolate.
Put each dipped cracker on a foil-lined tray.
Drizzle any leftover chocolate on top of each cracker.
Add on some Christmas sprinkles if you’d like.
Keep a couple plain and dust them with powdered sugar for another festive touch.
Let it all harden.
