4 Quick and Delicious Christmas Brunch Ideas
I’m going to share some of my favorite Christmas brunch ideas. All of these recipes use canned dough and require a minimal amount of preparation and effort.
These delicious dishes will provide you and your loved ones with yummy foods that won’t keep you slaving in the kitchen when you should be spending time with your family.
1. Candy cane Danish
All you need for this recipe is packages of crescent rolls, cream cheese, pie filling in the flavor of your choice, eggs, and sugar.
Start by mixing your cream cheese filling. Put a package of cream cheese into a bowl, add an egg and ¼ cup of sugar. Blend that thoroughly. I used an immersion blender.
Now take your crescent rolls and lay them out in a candy cane shape on your cookie sheet. Line the middle with your cream cheese filling and your pie filling.
Then close it up by rolling the dough together from the edges. Bake it in the oven at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. When it’s nice and baked through it should be golden brown on top.
You can make a simple frosting to drizzle on top by combining powdered sugar with some milk.
2. Pimento cheese and bacon pinwheels
For this recipe, you will need a package of bacon bits, a can of pizza crust, and a package of ready-made pimento cheese.
Roll out your pizza dough and spread on a thin layer of pimento cheese. Then sprinkle in the bacon bits. Roll the dough up like a cinnamon roll.
Cut the roll into smaller pieces. I cut 8 pieces. Then put them in a casserole dish and pop them in a 350-degree oven for 15-18 minutes just to cook the dough.
3. Cinnamon roll Santa hats
Pick up a can of cinnamon rolls, some buttercream frosting, red sprinkles, and mini marshmallows.
Take each cinnamon roll and unroll it so you can reform it into the shape of a Santa hat. Cook them according to the directions on the package. Once they cool you can start putting on the buttercream frosting.
I didn’t have any red food coloring to make the icing red, so I just used the red sprinkles instead. Line the bottom of each hat with marshmallows and put one marshmallow at the top of each hat.
I love how quick and easy this recipe was.
4. Biscuit and gravy casserole
For this recipe you will need a package of sausages, a can of butter biscuits, eggs, milk, a package of Colby jack cheese, and a packet of country gravy mix.
Take your biscuits and cut them into quarters. Use that to line the bottom of a greased 9 by 13 baking dish.
Chop up your sausage and sprinkle it into the dish over the biscuits. Then spread some shredded cheese over the top. In a separate bowl mix 6 eggs, ¼ cup of milk, some salt and pepper, and mix it well.
Pour the egg mixture into the pan, spreading it as evenly as possible.
Create your country gravy mix according to the directions on the package. Then pour and distribute that evenly into the pan as well. Now, slide the dish into a preheated 350-degree oven for about 40-45 minutes.
This was so delicious and didn’t take a lot of prep work.
