6 Delicious and Easy Chicken Freezer Meals to Save Money

Today, let’s stock the freezer with chicken freezer meals. I’m going to focus on chicken recipes that freeze well.

By the way, I’m using reusable freezer bags. I have a lot of chicken so I’m going to make marinades for the chicken, trimming the chicken, and putting it all together in a freezer bag.

We can just pull it out of the freezer to bake, grill, or saute it when we need it.

Trimming the chicken

I like to keep my chicken breasts thin. I throw all the fat and unusable parts of the chicken breast into a freezer bag. So it doesn’t go to waste, I will eventually use it to make chicken stock. I cut the chicken breasts in half horizontally to make them as thin as possible.

Writing label

Mark the bags

Use a marker to write out what you’re putting into the reusable freezer bags. Do it before you put the ingredients into it.

Bag holder

Use a bag holder

Use a plastic bag holder to make your life easier when loading ingredients into the freezer bag. You will do the same thing with each recipe.

After you load each bag up with chicken and marinade, you will close the bag, flatten it out, squeeze out all the air, then massage the chicken to make sure the marinade is evenly distributed all over the meat.

Then you can freeze the bags, laying them flat on top of each other to save room in your freezer.

1. Basic Italian chicken

All you need is chicken and Italian dressing. Add a piece of chicken into the bag for each person you are going to feed. Put the whole contents of a small 8-ounce bottle of Italian dressing into the bag. Close the bag and freeze.

6. Smokey barbeque chicken

I will do this a little differently. Add a half bottle of any barbeque sauce you like to the bag. Then add 1 heaping tablespoon of minced garlic and 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika. Stir it in the bag (you can use a bowl, too).

Add the chicken pieces into the bag. Don’t forget to close it up and massage. Do this recipe in the crockpot for best results. When serving, add a side of baked beans and potato salad.
