Fun & Easy Thanksgiving Treats to Make With Kids: My Go-To Ideas

Hello, hello everybody, and welcome back to my kitchen! Today’s video is super cute and fun. We’ve decided to share some adorable Thanksgiving treat ideas with you.

Now, let’s dive into three easy, turkey-themed, harvest-inspired Thanksgiving treats for you guys. Let’s get started!

Turkey-Shaped Cookies

A few weeks ago, I found these super cute turkey-shaped cookies at Kroger. I popped them in the freezer and knew they’d be the perfect Thanksgiving treat.

Winston really enjoyed this activity. I love doing stuff like this because it’s easy to throw together, and he has a great time helping in the kitchen.

If you’ve been here a while, you know Winston loves baking, so this was a hit! He was a little nervous about piping the icing, but he gave it a try.

This is one of those activities that’s fun, easy, and perfect for getting kids involved in the kitchen.

Turkey Donuts

Okie dokie, let’s move on to our next cute Thanksgiving treat—Turkey Donuts! I found this idea on Pinterest and will have the link in the description. All you need are some donuts, Fruit Loops (or any similar cereal), candy eyes, and toothpicks. I had the donuts in the freezer, so I thawed them out. You’ll also need a bit of icing to help everything stick.

To start, we broke the toothpicks in half because they were too long, and then we used them to attach the cereal pieces as feathers on the back of each donut.

Winston was really into this part, carefully stacking the Fruit Loops. It’s so cute seeing the “feathers” come together. Once the feathers were done, we added the candy eyes using a little dab of icing on the back to stick them on.

Finally, we made a little beak and the "gobble" (you know, that red part on the turkey) using more icing and a small orange candy piece.

And just like that, we had adorable turkey donuts! Winston loved them, and I think these would be perfect for a classroom party or a Thanksgiving family get-together.

Harvest Mix

Now it’s time for our third treat—Harvest Mix! There are so many ideas for harvest mixes and trail mixes on Pinterest, but I like to use what I have at home. The only thing I bought specifically for this was the Autumn Mix because I don’t usually buy candy corn (I’m not a big fan). But for this, it works perfectly with the whole autumn vibe.

Here’s what we used: Pretzel Crisps Minis (you can use regular pretzels if you have them), Honey O’s cereal (I love these in trail mix!), corn squares, and some leftover dark chocolate creepy cocoa crisp M&Ms from Halloween. I usually add Bugles for that sweet-and-salty combo, but I didn’t have any this time. Winston helped me mix everything in a big container, and we just added more ingredients as we went along.

Once everything was mixed up, we decided it needed another bag of M&Ms. I found a bag of Cookies & Scream M&Ms on clearance at Target and tossed those in, too. You can really add anything—Bugles, Cheetos, more candy—the possibilities are endless with trail mix! That’s what makes it so fun.

Wrapping It Up

That’s it, y’all! I really hope you enjoyed these super cute but fun Thanksgiving treats. Get your kids in the kitchen and let them help out—it’s all about making memories (and a little mess).

I hope you all enjoyed today’s video, and I’ll see you in the next one. Bye, guys!
