2 Easy Fall Appetizers That Will Last You Through the Holiday Season

Today, I’m going to show you how to make some easy fall appetizers. We're going to be making some red pepper jelly cream cheese pinwheels. Then we're going to be making some pumpkin cheesecake dip. Let's get started!

Pumpkin cheesecake dip

  • 8oz Cream cheese
  • 1 Cup Pumpkin puree
  • 1 Box cheesecake pudding mix
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon pumpkin pie spice

The first thing we're going to get to is the pumpkin cheesecake dip. We’re going to be using pure pumpkin. We're only going to be using a cup of this, so I'll probably take what's left and I'll put it in the freezer. We'll use that through the holidays.

I'm going to use a jello pudding cheesecake flavor, and a block of cream cheese, and then we're going to be using some pumpkin pie spice and some brown sugar. So I want to get this started first so that we can get it chilling in the fridge and then we'll work on the pinwheels.

We're going to start with one block of cream cheese. I let that soften for a little bit so it'll be easier to mix up.

I'm going to add in half of this can of pumpkin puree, then one pack of that cheesecake jello.

Next, you're going to add a tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice. Then you're going to need a tablespoon of brown sugar and give this a stir. I'm going to put this out in a different bowl.

You can see the consistency. Now, I did have to end up using my electric mixer to get it that smooth. So just a little hint.

I'm going to put this in this prettier smaller dipping bowl. Mix and serve with vanilla wafers, graham crackers, or apples

Red pepper jelly pinwheels

Next up are the pinwheels, which I’m making while the dip is chilling in the fridge.

  • 1 Roll crescent rolls
  • 8oz Cream cheese
  • Red pepper jelly

If you have never tried red pepper jelly, I tried like a year or two ago, I was like, pepper jelly. What? It is popular on charcuterie boards and it's just really good. So I want you to trust me on this one, but you're going to need some red pepper jelly.

It's also great to have on hand because I'll have some of this left. This is great for appetizers throughout the holidays.

We need a block of cream cheese and some crescent rolls.

I'm going to take the crescent roll dough and lay it out like a sheet.

Now I tried to find the crescent rolls sheets and they didn't have any of those in the store either. So I'm just using regular crescent dough crescent rolls and I'm just pinching together really good, where those seams are.

I got all my seams pinched pretty well. All right. It couldn't get simpler.

I'm going to spread the cream cheese onto my crescent dough.

Next, we'll start spreading the red pepper jelly. Look at that. It's so beautiful. Okay, so now I have all that red pepper jelly on there.

Now, I'm going to start rolling it up. You're going to be very gentle. We're just going to gently roll and keep rolling.

When I get to the end, I'm going to kind of fold the side over because I don't want it to squish out everywhere. If you have anything pop open, just squeeze it back together.

Grease a baking sheet and preheat your oven to 375 F.

Next, cut the dough roll into rounds. Each round is going to kind of look like almost a little cinnamon roll.

Place each round on the greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 15 mins.

Easy fall appetizers

Here are a few of those red pepper jelly pinwheels wheels out of the oven. Look at that beautiful orange color. I ended up getting 17 from this recipe. They are so good and creamy. The red pepper jelly is sweet, but a little spicy. It is so good.

The Cheesecake Jello - Is it instant pudding?

  • Cheryl Cheryl on Nov 21, 2023

Thanks for the recipes - and the little reminder about pinwheels in general. I forgot how easy and adaptable they are. I love red pepper jelly so much , I make my own.

My fav appetizer in a pinch: block of cream cheese on a plate, pour RPJ over the top, and surround it with wheat thins. Stick a mint or basil leaf on top, so it 's fancy. I don't care if anyone likes it - I do.😁 Works well with vegan cream cheese too.
