8 Delicious and Easy Breakfast Freezer Meal Ideas

Everyone knows breakfast is important, but mornings are so rushed! This is where breakfast freezer meals come in.

Today, I have eight breakfast freezer meal ideas to share with you that will save you time and keep you satisfied and healthy.

Freezer oatmeal

1. Freezer oatmeal

This is going to revolutionize your breakfast game.

1. Cook oats using your favorite method. Add a ¾ cup brown sugar. I like to add dates, some craisins, wheat germ and quinoa.

2. Season to taste with cinnamon, give things a good stir, then transfer the oatmeal into a container and store in the fridge for at least an hour or two for the oatmeal to firm up a bit.

3. After your oatmeal has cooled, move it into silicone muffin trays. Use your spoon or hands to shape them up. Add fresh, frozen or canned fruit, berries and nuts by pressing them into the oatmeal cuts. Leave the tray in the freezer for at least 3-4 hours or until fully frozen.

4. Pop the cups out of the tray and store in a freezer safe bag.

5. On a busy morning, pop two oatmeal cups into a wide mouth Mason jar, and place a microwave-safe silicone jar jacket over it to take to work.

6. To cook, add boiling water and wait a few minutes, or pop in the microwave or pan.

Oatmeal bars

2. Oatmeal bars

Store-bought oatmeal bars keep shrinking and barely contain any real fruit filling, so let’s make some at home.

1. Blend two cups of oats in a food processor to form a fine powder. Add one cup of ground almonds and a pinch of baking powder, some cinnamon and a sprinkle of salt.

2. Transfer that mix to a bowl with milled flaxseed and pour in equal amounts of coconut oil and maple syrup with a spoonful or two of water for a dough texture.

3. Roll the dough between two sheets of parchment paper into a freehand rectangle about ¼ inch thick, cut off any ragged edges and make another freehand baked bar out of those.

4. Grab a few jars of fruit filling and put that in between layers of dough.

5. Bake at 350 F for 20-25 minutes.

Omelet in a jar

3. Omelet in a jar

This breakfast is super customizable, so use whatever you have in your fridge. Feel free to just use this as an inspiration.

1. Sauté some onions, add a few handfuls of mushrooms and sprinkle some seasoned salt.

2. Add in the eggs.

3. Get a freezer and microwave safe container, ideally a canning jar. Fill the base with your meat and veggies first, then add on the sautéed onions and sprinkle with cheese. Leave 1 inch of headspace because food expands and builds pressure as it freezes.

4. Place a lid on and shake very well for 15 seconds to incorporate the fatty yolks into the whites, which helps to sustain their texture in the freezer.

5. This can last in the freezer for up to three months, and is an excellent way to use up your ingredients. Make sure to thaw out the frozen jar, and to reheat, microwave without the lid for 90 seconds.

Sausage tortillas

4. Sausage tortillas

1. Take sausage patties or the breakfast meat of your choice and fully cook.

2. Get a piece of pita bread, tortilla or naan bread. Slice it to open it in half and add a slice of your favorite cheese, then slide in your sausage. Create an assembly line and stack them up.

3. Microwave to eat!

Breakfast sandwiches

5. Breakfast sandwiches

Buying breakfast sandwiches is such a waste, because they are incredibly overpriced. Let’s make some ourselves!

1. Start with bread of your choice. Slice it down the middle.

2. Cook up some bacon and let it cool, then cut into bite-sized pieces.

3. Add soft scrambled eggs to the bread, sprinkle with cheese, add your bacon and green toppings.

4. Toast in the oven for a couple minutes, then bag them up and toss in the freezer.

If you like the idea of a breakfast sandwich, but want to avoid the carbs, swap the bread for peppers. You'll want to leave the peppers raw and bake them slightly for like 5-7 minutes.

Breakfast smoothies

6. Breakfast smoothies

Smoothies are the ultimate morning fuel, but it may be too many ingredients to juggle on a busy morning.

You can add anything you want, but I recommend acai powder, cacao powder, chia seeds, dehydrated kale and spinach, hemp seeds, some ripe bananas, bee pollen, dates, dried goji berries, almonds, coconut oil, turmeric powder and camu powder.

These store in the freezer for at least three months. To prepare the smoothies, add milk or yogurt or water and blend in a blender until smooth.

Baked French toast cups

7. Baked French toast cups

These are great for meal prepping and perfect to freeze for a quick reheat in the microwave in the morning.

1. In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, heavy cream, sugar, and eggs, along with vanilla, cinnamon, and a bit of salt. Whisk to combine.

2. Cube up your bread and add to the egg mixture. You could use ends of homemade loaves or any kind of slightly stale leftover bread.

3. Once the bread is thoroughly saturated, divide the mixture between the cups of your silicone muffin trays, about a third of a cup in each cavity. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until brown on top.

4. Bag and freeze. They smell and taste fantastic, and maple syrup is the perfect addition.

Pancake and sausage muffins

8. Pancake and sausage muffins

Here is an easy alternative to making pancakes and sausage.

1. Pop some sausage links and pop them into the oven to cook until done.

2. In a large bowl, whisk 2-3 cups of flour, around 4 tablespoons of sugar per cup of flour and 1-2 tablespoons of baking powder per cup of flour. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt, a tablespoon of cinnamon and some nutmeg, or any spices you prefer.

3. In another bowl combine two eggs per cup of flour, flour, about 3/4 cup of milk per one cup of flour, two tablespoons of avocado oil and honey and mix thoroughly.

4. Add this to the flour mixture and stir just enough until things are moistened.

5. Place a cooked sausage link in each cup of the silicone cupcake pan, cover the sausage with the batter and bake until lightly browned, about 20-25 minutes.

Drizzle with maple syrup and enjoy!
