This week, I am sharing with you all about saving time and money by preparing delicious 10 minute dinner ideas.

They're home-cooked meals in your crock pot. The prep time is 10 minutes or less on all of these recipes. We have enjoyed these meals this week, and it has been a lifesaver for the busy week we've experienced here in our home.

Making broccoli, chicken, and rice casserole

1. Broccoli, chicken, and rice casserole

Let's start making our first 10 minute dinner recipe: a broccoli, chicken, and rice casserole.

To make this chicken, broccoli, and rice dump-and-go recipe, I will just put two cups of rice in the bottom of the slow cooker and add three cups of water. I'm using one pound of chicken thighs.

Then, I'm going to sprinkle on some salt and about two tablespoons of Italian seasoning. It probably was about two tablespoons.

I'm going to pour my frozen broccoli on top. I needed two bags for our family, but you can adjust the amount you need for your family.

I'm going to turn it on to the low setting for it to cook while we're gone during the day.

After it's done cooking, I'm going to sprinkle about a cup and a half to two cups of freshly shredded cheese and add about a cup of sour cream.

I mixed it up to get the chicken into smaller, more manageable pieces for the kids.

2. Greek chicken

I'm going to make some Greek chicken in the crock pot with some chicken thighs. I'm going to go to the store and get some pitas and some stuff to make salad.

Making Greek chicken

So I have chicken thighs in the bottom of the crock pot, and I've sliced one onion.

I've got about a tablespoon of fresh oregano, a teaspoon of salt, a teaspoon of pepper, and a teaspoon of garlic powder. If you have garlic cloves, that would probably be a more authentic and better flavor.

I'm going to put about a tablespoon of oil and a quarter cup of apple cider vinegar. If you have lemon juice, that can also be used. Add a quarter cup of chicken broth. I'm going to put the lid on and set this to low.

Let that cook all day. When I get home and have all of our stuff for our salad and our pitas, we will put everything together.

I will mix some Greek dressing to put on our salad and Greek chicken pitas. I'm going to mix one-half cup of olive oil, two tablespoons of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar, either one, one-half teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of garlic powder, two tablespoons of Italian seasoning, one teaspoon of sugar, and add a few drops of Worcestershire sauce. Mix it all well and set it to the side.

Making salad

Now we're going to make our salad.

I'm going to chop up some romaine lettuce and add some tomatoes and peppers from the garden. I'm also going to add some of these Kalamata olives.

The chicken is done, so I'm going to shred it up a bit with a fork. I'm going to take some chicken and make sure I get plenty of onions, and I'm just going to put them on top of the pita.

I've got some Parmesan cheese, and I'm just going to drizzle a bit and get some salad on this plate.

3. Smoked sausage potato casserole

I'm going to chop some potatoes and onions and smoked sausage. I'm going to cook my smoked sausage.

If you do not want to cook your smoked sausage, it would be completely fine just to put it into the slow cooker and let it do all the work.

Cut up all the ingredients and put them into the slow cooker so it can do all the work.

I've got two pounds of smoked sausage because we like extra smoked sausage when we eat this recipe. You can use one pound, which will probably be more than enough.

While my sausage is cooking, I'm going to dice up about six potatoes and one onion. I've melted one block of cream cheese, and I'm going to add about a cup of cheddar cheese to that.

I'm going to mix this. I'm going to add my smoked sausage, and I went ahead and cooked my onions with that. I'm going to spread that around. I'm going to add one cup of water to give the potatoes a little bit of something to cook in.

I'm going to spread the cream cheese over the top. I'm going to sprinkle a little bit of salt, a little bit of black pepper, and a little bit of garlic powder. I need this done quicker than usual, so I will cook it on high.

After three hours, I checked the potatoes and they were done.

So this is a super quick recipe. It took about three hours for everything to cook. I cut the potatoes extra thin.

4. Whole chicken and vegetables

I just put a whole chicken in the crock pot with vegetables to cook for the day while we're gone. And then when we get home, it will be all done. Easy to get dinner on the table.

I will start by placing the chicken in the crock pot. Then I'm going to chop up five potatoes, and then I'm going to open a couple of cans of green beans. I'm going to drizzle some olive oil and sprinkle it with some salt.

Making whole chicken and vegetables

Put a nice amount, maybe two tablespoons of Italian seasoning.

Okay, now we're ready to add our vegetables. I will add a little oil to the potatoes and season them with salt and some Italian seasoning. I have two cans of green beans. One I have drained, and one I didn't. That way, there will be some cooking liquid. Sprinkle some seasoning on the green beans as well, but not much.

Put the lid on and cook on low all day.

Serve when the potatoes are tender.

I loved how you showed a problem with the pita bread! I don’t know the answer and it’s refreshing when someone on camera isn’t afraid to show that they have a problem.
