How to Organize Different Purses

If you are looking for some purse organizer ideas, you have come to the right place.

Today, I want to show you how I organize my four bags, each for a different occasion. Hopefully this will give you some idea on how to organize your purses, too. Let’s get started!

Everyday bag

1. Everyday bag

I was given this bag a year and a half ago and I have been using it ever since.

Some of parts of it are a bit worn, like my wallet, but that just shows you how well your spaces and your purse can stay organized if you have the right system set up for you.

I definitely prefer purses that have compartments, because it makes it easier to separate your items.

Wallet

My favorite wallet is from Target, and I have been using it for a few years now.

It holds my driver's license in a window slot, which is super convenient, and I also have a space for my personal credit card, my personal debit card, my business credit card, my Costco card, our health insurance cards, and auto insurance card.

There is also a slot for cash, and a section for coins, where I only hold pennies, because I keep dollars and other coins in another pouch for easy access.

Purse

I have a pouch that holds all other cards, reward cards, gift cards, so that they are not bulking up my everyday wallet if I ever go out with just my everyday wallet and my phone.

I also have a bigger pouch with ready-tied notes in two different sizes, a few paperclips, my checkbook and a Daiso pen.

Clear pouch

Another pouch I carry is a transparent one from The Container Store, which holds receipts, or any documents that I need to keep protected.

I also carry some shopping bags that I got at Daiso. In California you have to pay for the plastic grocery bags, so I never forget these, and they fold, which is very convenient.

Bobby pins, hair elastics and nail tools

I have another pouch, which holds hair ties, bobby pins, a nail cutter, a cuticle nipper, a little floss pack, and a cloth to clean my glasses.

Another small one holds my essential oils. I have a peppermint rollerball to roll over my forehead when I have a headache, and lemon essential oil is great in water. The third one just smells great, so I love putting some in my shoes if I have to take them off at someone else’s house.

Next I have my eyeglasses case. I do not use it for my eyeglasses because I always have to wear them, so I put my sunglasses in here. And then I have my EpiPens.

Everyday purse

In the front slot, I have my phone, and the slot next to that, I always have my keys. In the back zippered portion, I have a charger, and earbuds. I love anything that has a cord to be retractable or in a case to avoid things getting tangled.

I also carry a tiny tape measure, which is super helpful when I am shopping for furniture or organizing supplies. I have some eye drops and a little mirror to help me put them in. Finally, I have my makeup bag.

Crossbody bag

2. Crossbody bag

If I am going on an outing where I want to be hands free, such as an amusement park, I usually take my crossbody bag, which is very convenient to hold.

I carry my wallet, the coin pouch and the checkbook pouch. I used to put my bag in the middle section, but it got stained, so I use a makeup bag now.

I have a smaller poly envelope for this bag. I use a zippered pouch as a “tech bag”, for my measuring tape. My eye drops and mirror go in the front section.

My keys go in the pocket, and my phone sits on top. The rest of the items I carry in my work bag.

Special occasion bag

3. Special occasion bag

My special occasion bag is big. I usually carry my regular slim wallet. Hair ties and keys go in the provided little pocket. I also have random things like a glue gun and glue sticks, pins with pearls at the tips, floral tape, wire cutters, some extra ribbon that fits the color scheme of the event.

This bag does not really have dividers, but it still works for me, because I do not use it every day and what goes in here is very minimal and I remember exactly what it is. This means I can easily pull out whatever I need and do not require any organizing supplies.

Finally, I just carry lipstick.

Tech equipment

4. Work bag

My work bag is the biggest because it holds my laptop. I used to use it in conjunction with the crossbody bag. I have two tech bags. One carries everything I need to film on the go with my phone, including a clip light, a tripod, and a lapel mic.

The second one I use for my laptop cord, a stationary mouse that does not require a mouse pad, and washcloth for my computer.

Work bag

I use the pockets to carry my wallet, my phone, chargers and earbuds, measuring tape and the mirror.

I also have an A4 sized planner, a list pad for whenever I need to write things down but I am tired of looking at the screen, and a journal where I put down special memories I want to pass down to my daughter one day.

Work bag

In another zippered section, I carry three document folders: for business paperwork, personal, and school. You can actually get away with just having one document holder, but I have three because my business requires a lot of paperwork, and I want to keep it separated from any other paperwork.
