Building the perfect prepper pantry is on many people’s to-do lists these days, but most of us don’t know where to start. The internet is full of prepper pantry ideas, but it can be very overwhelming when you’re always looking at a final product online and not seeing when someone began stocking up from scratch.

To help you out, Christine the Frugal Fit Mom, is showing off her own amazing stash while handing out her best tips, so you can create a prepper pantry list of your own and get shopping already.

Of course, organizing a prepper pantry isn’t as easy as heading to the store without a plan. It takes a bit of thought, some idea of what food items you need today and some extra cash in your grocery budget.

That’s why Christine’s first tip is to understand you and your family’s needs. Doing so will help you plan which types of disasters you may be prepping for in the future—like hurricanes, tornadoes, or droughts—so that you know how much food you actually need based on how long you may be stuck at home.

Next, Christine says you should only buy items you actually eat. If you hate beans, don’t buy them just because other preppers tell you to. You also want to make sure you buy an appropriate amount of food. Too little can leave you without while too much can go to waste.

Other tips Christine shares for creating the ultimate organized prepper pantry are rotating your stock, buying a variety of items, including seasonings and spices, and learning how to cook.

Christine also reminds us to remember our pets and non-food items, like hygiene products, when stocking up our prepper pantry. And lastly, she gives us permission to stock up slowly so it’s not so costly upfront or as overwhelming as so many make it out to be.
