10 Online Walmart Shopping Secrets That Only Employees Know About

I have 10 Walmart shopping secrets for you that will help make your shopping easier. These secrets will save you money, time, and effort when shopping online at walmart.com.

Join me as I discuss the new Walmart Plus membership, the difference between shopping online and in-store, and other tips to get the most out of your Walmart shopping experience.

Walmart Plus benefits

1. Walmart Plus

First up is the Walmart Plus membership. No, it isn't free. I know you hate to hear that, but it will easily pay for itself. It adds up to about $12.95 a month but you get your money’s worth from it.

With it you get free shipping, you get discounts on gas, and you get the first crack at all their Black Friday sales events. If you want that $99 TV or that special price on the Xbox, then I highly recommend that you become a member of Walmart Plus.

The other cool thing about Walmart Plus is that they offer cashback on a lot of different items and they offer super fun rewards like this one, where you can get a free $10 gift card if you complete some action.

If you're not sure yet that you want to join the Walmart Plus program, you can try it for free for 30 days. If you don't join the Walmart Plus program, you can still get free shipping if you order $35 or more.

Third-party sellers on walmart.com

2. Third-party sellers

One of the next secrets to shopping at walmart.com is that they have third-party sellers similar to Amazon.

What this means is that anybody can sell on Walmart.com’s web platform, and for the most part, unless you know where to look, you don't even realize that you're buying from a third-party seller.

Now, this is tricky because if you're not buying from Walmart directly, then you can't necessarily return your purchases at the store.

So to narrow down your searches to make sure that you are only buying from walmart.com itself, go to the sidebar, then go down to where it says Retailer and click where it says Walmart only.

Black Friday sneak peeks

3. Black Friday sneak peeks

Another saving perk on walmart.com that not a lot of people know about is that the website will show you the price that it is going to be on Black Friday. So you get a sneak peek.

If you want to see all this for yourself, just go to the search bar on walmart.com and search for the words Black Friday.

Where to get discounted gift cards

4. Discounted gift cards

If you're going to buy something on walmart.com for about $50 or more, I highly recommend you check out these places to get a discounted gift card.

My favorite place to get discounted gift cards is Raise.com, and the reason is that they give you a free $5 gift card when you sign up with them.

"Gadgets to Gift Cards" on walmart.com

5. Gadgets to Gift Cards

Walmart.com has a "Gadgets to Gift Cards" program that not a lot

of people know about.

You simply send in your used or broken electronics and they will send you gift cards to walmart.com. You can even look up how much your electronic item is worth before you send it in to see if it's worth your while.

Buying refurbished items on walmart.com

6. Refurbished items

Walmart, just like Amazon and other big box retailers, also has refurbished items.

All you have to do is go to the search bar and search for refurbished items, and it will show you everything and all the different categories that they have refurbished items for. You can save hundreds and hundreds of dollars by using this technique.

How to find the clearance section on walmart.com

7. Clearance section

Walmart.com also has a hidden clearance section. All you have to do is go to the search bar and search for the word clearance. Once there, you can see that you can find deals that are under $5.

This is a treasure trove for some of the most amazing deals anywhere online.

Honey price comparison tool

8. Price comparison

Now, walmart.com doesn't always have the best prices when it comes to comparing the prices for all the big box stores. That's why I always recommend when you're shopping online that you have a price comparison tool.

My favorite price comparison tool is Honey

However, here are a few other price comparison tools:

  • PriceGrabber
  • Google Shopping
  • PriceRunner
  • GetPrice
  • Compare It!
  • ShopMania
TopCashback app

9. Cashback apps

While we're talking about price comparison tools, you have to have a cashback app whenever you're shopping online, or else you're throwing money away.

My favorite cashback app is TopCashback, and that is because they normally have the highest amount of cashback of any of the cashback sites online.

Walmart shopping secrets

10. Lower prices online than in-store

Another secret that a lot of people don't know about shopping at walmart.com is that the prices on walmart.com’s most popular items are usually lower online than they are in-store.

The reason for this is that the walmart.com program within its software is constantly changing the prices depending on what the prices are for those items at other big box stores.

Walmart.com wants to always have the lowest price possible for its most popular items. This is called dynamic pricing.
