Do you think you are doing van life all wrong when you read or see other people’s van content? The truth is that there’s no right way or one formula to do van life.

We do different things, go at our own pace, and have unique perspectives on similar experiences.

So, as if you are thinking about this lifestyle, embrace your uniqueness, and create a life that reflects who you are and what you love.

Maybe you see these beautiful scenic views…

People walking across a bridge

…or people having these amazing adventures, and you wonder why your van life doesn’t look or feel like that. Well, I hope I have never given the impression that my way of doing van life is the right way.

I just share helpful things that have worked for me. I also try to present alternatives that may be helpful or to help others think outside of the box.

Trees

It helps to understand myself, what I need to start my day, and what I need to help me feel like everything is right in the world. How can I be in a bad mood when I wake up to this, right? And look at this water? It’s gorgeous. This is what I need.

Tree
And, I’m going to hug a tree today. Look at this beauty.

Cypress Knees

Look at this growth in the water. I am in the Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas and this is called Cypress Knees. They look like a bunch of people standing in the water. Doesn’t this look like a woman holding a baby? So unique!

If you read or watch different content providers, you know we all focus on different aspects of life.

For example, I love being with friends who are active and willing to explore to find new things. And we have our time when we do our own thing to get energized. My friends understand that.

Flowers
I love watching new spring flowers open up to the sun. You can’t notice them unless you slow down enough to see them.

Pouring boiling water

I found this little quote by Flying Edna that sums up what I’m trying to say:

“It’s enough to pay attention to the little things. The steam rising off that first cup of coffee, sunlight coming through the window. There’s no right answer for what’s going to make you happy. There are only these little things that add up to how you spend your days and it can take a long time to see. It’s as simple as that.”

So I hope now you can realize there’s no one way to do this. Find the things that make you happy and that you have fun doing, whatever that is. Do it your own unique way and have fun. Leave your thoughts in the comment section.
